Lollapalooza 2026: What to Wear and Who to See
Written by Ben Weisse
When Lollapalooza released their star-packed lineup in March and tickets went on sale a few days later, sales went quick and many were waitlisted. Now, everyone has to decide on what to wear to one of the biggest music festivals in the country, with just four months to put it all together.
The headliners on day one are Lorde and John Summit, which creates the heartbreaking decision of choosing between the two, as they perform at the same time. It should be easy to spot the Lorde superfans, who will likely be wearing skeletal outfits and plenty of silver accessories, inspired by her latest album’s Virgin and Lorde’s fashion of this time. If dressing for John Summit, you can accessorize with a pashmina, a classic rave accessory, and wear plenty of fun colors. Another fun and trending option is a studded top, which can make an otherwise basic outfit stand out so much more.
On the same day, the smaller artists I’m most excited to see are Audrey Hobert, a pop singer, and Ninajirachi, an up and coming electronic singer.
Charli xcx and The Smashing Pumpkins are headlining day two. Von Dutch hats and shirts are sure to be worn rampantly across the festival, a reference to Charli xcx’s hit song on her album BRAT. One thing I’m going to be sure to wear at least one day to Lolla is camo shorts, which would be the perfect vibe for the Friday lineup. Also performing this day is Zara Larsson, singer of “Lush Life.” Tropical-inspired outfits or air brush t-shirt designs would be so fun to wear this day, à la Zara Larsson. Some less popular artists performing this day are Horsegiirl, a horse head wearing DJ, Nettspend, the underground rapper who recently walked for Paris fashion week, and Slayyyter, one of the best dance pop singers in the industry right now.
Saturday’s headliners are the most recent Best New Artist Grammy award winner Olivia Dean, and K-Pop superstar Jennie. Also performing this day is Ethel Cain and the Neighbourhood, as well as many DJs, like Disco Lines, Trixie Mattel, and Frost Children. A trendy pattern perfect for this day, especially if going to Olivia Dean, is polka dots! A polka dot top works for going to Lolla and also you can wear it all summer long.
The cheapest way to put together four different outfits would be to stick with the clothes you already have and accessorize in different ways. Bandanas, baseball hats, sunglasses, belts, bangles, statement necklaces and more! The options are endless. Mix and match and see what you can create. Lolla is the perfect time to be experimental or try something new and bold you have always wanted to try out. A slogan tee is something I’m so excited to wear to Lolla if I can just find the perfect one, a tricky thing to do even after spending hours scouring on Pinterest. This simple type of tee can be paired with any bottoms you want and would be perfect for any festival this summer, especially Lolla.
Sunday’s lineup has Tate McRae and The XX as the closing acts, a purple lace bra (like Tate McRae’s song) is perfect for the Tate superfans out there. Don’t opt out on seeing all the other fun performers that day, like Beabadoobee, The Chainsmokers, Fakemink, and Duke Dumont.
With this year’s lineup, your fit check possibilities are endless, anything can go. No matter what you wear to Lolla or to any other music festival this summer, be sure to show off who you are, have fun and stay safe!
